Dear Manchester

Dear Manchester,
Thank you for accepting me with welcoming arms. You have introduced me to some of my bestest friends, taught me to ALWAYS carry an umbrella and educated me into an English scholar. You taught me that a chip bun is also a chip barm, McDonald's needs bouncers on the door and Market St should be avoided on a weekend. Youve watched as I took a stand for gender equality and sexual attacks in my first protest.
You've seen me at my best and you've seen me at my worst. You've taught me not to ask 'blue or red?' and housed hundreds of amazing music events. You watched me meet Ellie Goulding, scream at the top of my lungs for Arctic Monkeys & Paolo Nutini and opened my eyes to the world of music journalism. You've set me straight, Manchester, even when I lost my way, the Hilton Hotel was there to guide me home.
We're having a short break after three amazing years, it's no biggy. Couples do it all the time. 'Distance makes the heart grow fonder' right? Until next time Manchester, I'm not over you yet.
Just Write About It
